Ferra

Ferra Ledger

A secure communication network that carries all of an institution's message and file exchange with external systems and with other institutions over an immutable record verifiable by every party. It can be deployed within a single institution, across a multi-site group, or as an inter-institutional network.

Solution

What we provide

Ferra Ledger is a communication network built on a permissioned distributed ledger that records the origin, integrity and time of every message, file and API call verifiably for all parties. Business logic lives in the network's own service layer rather than in smart contracts; institutions connect their existing systems through standard APIs and never touch the chain directly. No crypto assets are involved.

  • Immutable, two-sided proof of delivery for every message and file
  • Channel-level privacy: each party sees only its own channels, the centre audits all
  • Secure inter-institutional network without a central operator

Three deployment models

The same product is deployed at three different scales according to the institution's needs; moving from one model to another does not require reinstallation.

In-house secure gateway

Deployed by a single institution. All inbound and outbound API calls, files and messages pass through this layer; every movement is recorded with its origin, integrity and time. The institution holds a single, evidence-grade record of its entire relationship with the outside world.

Intra-group network

A group operating in several countries or locations sets up its own private network between its subsidiaries. Messaging and file transfer flow over this network; each subsidiary sees only its own channels, while headquarters sees and audits all traffic.

Inter-institutional network

Independent institutions set up a secure messaging network among themselves without the need for a central operator. Each institution runs its own node; messages are delivered only between the parties concerned, with an immutable record. The function of central messaging networks is provided by a decentralised structure.

Applications such as the digital wallet (Ferra Wallet), collection reconciliation, inter-institutional document verification and instruction transmission run on Ferra Ledger. The network integrates with the institution's existing identity and authorisation infrastructure; nodes are hosted on-premises or in a private cloud.

  • Immutable record and proof of delivery for messages, files and API calls
  • Channel-level privacy with central audit visibility
  • Integration with existing systems through standard APIs; no direct chain access needed
  • Inter-institutional identity and authorisation management
  • Permissioned network with no crypto assets
  • Ready integration with Ferra Transfer and Ferra API; standard API for the institution's own applications
